Three Keys for Worship in a Replant or Revitalization – Revitalize & Replant #071

SUBSCRIBE TODAY: iTunes • RSS • Stitcher • TuneIn Radio • Google Play

Mike Harland joins us on Revitalize & Replant to discuss the role worship plays in a revitalization.

Episode Highlights:

  • The starting place of your worship ministry in a revitalization is who’s in the pews now—not who you wish was in the pews.
  • The most healthy thing you can do in a worship ministry is to make sure the people in the congregation are engaged in worship.
  • Talent attracts talent.
  • A church needs to understand what a healthy worship ministry would look like in the church and then work toward that goal.

The three keys that we discuss are:

  1. Find your “who”
  2. Find your “how”
  3. Set the goal.

That was a lot to digest; but I picked a few great things out of it. Thanks much.

I felt like you were describing our church. I am the adult Sunday school teacher what could I do to move us toward a worship service that draws the congregation into a more personal level of participation?

I haven’t listened to the podcast so this may have been said, if so I apologize for the redundancy. Wouldn’t the best thing we can do for a worship ministry is make sure those on the team are spiritually healthy? I say that because it’s hard for people to lead others to a place where they are not themselves. Just a thought I had while reading the highlights.

Good episode … again. Before listening I started the process of making our own worship book to transition from a “hymn only” church. The idea is that the book would be particular to our church with all our favorite songs – that way people are singing songs they know, and singing OUT. I am hoping this will generate a different kind of atmosphere during our singing portion of worshiping together.
This episode confirmed much of what we are thinking, and how to get there.
